Syracuse University's Ernie Davis was the first African-American to win college football's top award, the Heisman Trophy. But more importantly, Ernie was an inspiration to his teammates and fans alike for his gentle nature, hard play, and core values. Davis was a key member of Syracuse University's 1959 National Championship football team and subject of the major Hollywood movie "The Express".
